Mary Joyce-Cahill, a native New Yorker, began her nursing journey in Manhattan, starting as a CNA and LPN before earning her BSN and Masters in Public Health from NYU. Her love for travel led her to work as a nurse in diverse settings across the US, from rural communities in the Midwest to coastal areas on the west coast. Returning to New York, she dedicated herself to serving medically vulnerable populations, eventually becoming the Director of Health Services for PWA.
A move to Ireland saw Mary working in rural hospitals while establishing herself as a Certified Holistic Counselor, focusing on cognitive health. Back in the US, she became a Palliative Care APRN in Chicago. Her partner's dementia diagnosis prompted her to further her education in aromatherapy and dementia care.
Combining her medical expertise with firsthand experience, Mary created Decoding Dementia, a holistic approach to support patients and families facing dementia. Driven by her personal and professional journey, she remains dedicated to helping those affected by this disease.
